MARCH TUESDAY HOMESCHOOLER PRINT MAKING ART CLASS TUESDAYS ART CLASSES (NO CLASS March 17th) (2 TIMES AVAILABLE)
Feb. 17th, 24th, March 3rd, 10th, 24th & 31st - 6 classes
We will explore the art of simple relief printmaking using materials such as Styrofoam plates, textured cardboard, or everyday objects like toilet paper rolls. The process involves pressing designs into a soft surface, akin to tracing a drawing onto foam, and applying paint to these textures before transferring the image onto paper with firm pressure. The key steps include creating a raised design by indenting lines, using a roller (brayer) to apply paint, and then pressing paper onto the painted surface to reveal the print. This technique emphasizes the enjoyment of textures and shapes rather than striving for perfection in the final results.

Hand painting shoes and hats requires a meticulous process that begins with surface preparation, which includes cleaning and deglazing or sanding. Artists typically use specialized acrylic or fabric makers to apply them in thin layers with a small brush, ensuring to alternate directions for an even finish. Come join us to make you own custom shoes and base ball hat.

This involves mastering the control of filament flow through adjustments in speed and temperature. As skills develop, the focus shifts to constructing three-dimensional structures by connecting lines, bridging gaps—particularly in downward directions—creating individual components, and employing templates or heat-forming techniques to enhance complexity. Throughout this process, patience and consistent practice are essential for advancing from simple shapes to intricate models.

Join us for an enjoyable Saturday open studio session, where you can dedicate one or two hours to your personal projects.
The cost is just $15 per hour, which includes all necessary supplies.

All of our day art and summer camps are currently available at a discounted rate until January 30th. Day camps are now priced at $45, reflecting a savings of $10 per camp, while summer art camps are offered at $250, which is a $25 discount for each camp.
